With the products from Dulon Marine, Deckmate, and Captain Green, you can be assured of the best quality to make your vessel look stunning and keep it in top condition.
Based on our maintenance principle – clean, restore, protect – we have compiled the following maintenance step plan for you.
HULL
To keep the hull in optimal condition throughout the sailing season, it is important to thoroughly clean, restore, and protect it 1 to 2 times a year, followed by periodic washing.
For best results, the following steps should be followed:
STEP 1:
Cleaning
Start with a thorough cleaning of the hull to remove dirt, algae, old wax layers, and other contaminants. Use the following products:
DULON HULL & WATERLINE CLEAN 22
A powerful cleaner for removing yellow waterline streaks and limescale.
Instructions:
- Apply DULON HULL & WATERLINE CLEAN 22 using a Deckmate Brush Soft, spreading it thinly over the surface.
- Allow it to sit for about 10 minutes (avoid drying out).
- Rinse off with clean water.
PREDULON 00
A powerful deep cleaner that removes superficial contaminants, greases, oils, and old wax and silicone layers.
Instructions:
- Add 250 ml of PREDULON 00 to a bucket of warm water.
- Clean the surface with a Deckmate Washmitt or Deckmate Brush Soft.
- Let PREDULON 00 sit for about 30 seconds.

STEP 3:
PROTECTING
It is essential to properly protect the hull from UV radiation and limescale buildup. Use the following product:
DULON 1&2
A revolutionary 2-component polishing and waxing system that creates a unique, impenetrable molecular shield on hard materials such as gelcoat, lacquered steel, wood, and stainless steel. DULON 1&2 provides long- lasting high-gloss protection against UV radiation among other things.
Instructions manual polishing:
- Apply DULON 1 with a damp Deckmate Polish Pad in circular motions until a light haze appears.
- DO NOT WIPE OFF!

haze appears. - Allow to dry until a powdery haze forms and buff off with the Deckmate Multi Towel | Coral Fleece.
Instructions machine polishing
(rotary + medium, soft polishing pad and sheepskin):
- Lightly moisten the medium polishing pad and apply a small amount of DULON 1 to the pad.
- Distribute DULON 1 thinly over the surface.

MOST COMMON MAINTENANCE ISSUES
BLACK STREAK DEPOSITS
One of the most prevalent issues on board are the so- called black streaks or deposits, often found at window corners or water outlets. These marks are caused by atmospheric pollution that settles during rainfall, leaving unsightly black streaks and spots. To effectively remove these contaminants, use:
DULON BLACK STREAK REMOVER 26
GLASS OR PLASTIC PANES
The glass or plastic windows on board can become dirty due to rainfall, water spray, and other factors. For quick and easy cleaning, we recommend:
DULON GLASS CLEAN 50
TEAK – NATURAL OR SYNTHETIC
Both natural and synthetic teak are commonly used materials on boats. By properly cleaning, restoring, and protecting the teak, you can ensure a spotless deck. Use the following products for optimal results:
DULON TEAK DEGREASER 41
DULON TEAK CLEAN & BRIGHTENER 42
DULON TEAK PROTECTOR 43
DULON SYNTHETIC TEAK CLEANER 46
STAINLESS STEEL
Bollards, railings, water outlets, and other fittings are often made of stainless steel, either polished or chrome- plated. To maintain your stainless steel in pristine condition, please use:
DULON STAINLESS STEEL POLISH 60
SUPERFICIAL FLASH RUST
Even with the use of stainless steel and other rust- resistant materials on board, superficial rust spots can still appear, especially in marinas and ports. These spots are typically caused by tiny metal particles that float in the air and settle during rainfall. To effectively remove these superficial flash rust stains, use:
DULON RUST REMOVER 64
This approach will help maintain the pristine appearance of your stainless steel surfaces.
FENDERS, DINGHIES, PVC SEATS, AND SPRAYHOODS
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is a widely used material on boats for fenders, seats, cushions, and sprayhoods. To clean your PVC items effectively and easily, utilize:
